Quote REDWHITEANDBLUE="REDWHITEANDBLUE"I cancelled thought it was pants always getting the times wrong pushing rl back when they covered the championship many times the service broke down and as mentioned if you like HD it's a backward step'"
Quote REDWHITEANDBLUE="bren2k"The only issues I have is that they're still not broadcasting in HD, which is a bit jarring when you're used to watching RL in that format. Also, because I record all the NRL games for later viewing, they reasonably regularly cock up the system so that Sky+ misses the end of coverage - one weekend that happened with every game, which was very frustrating.
Other than that, it's tremendous value for money.'"
They cannot be blamed fully for issues with the host broadcaster: CH9 do not show in HD - not even the Grand Final, there was a big fuss in Aus over this.
Regards the delays, a KO time is set and again CH9 disregard this, look at twitter feeds of people in Aus - its a running joke about the lottery of KO time. CH9 as major broadcaster play fast and loose with the game, way more interference than Sky have over here. They broadcast at a time that suits their program schedule and advertisers, often trying to create a clash with the delayed coverage of other games on Fox - to keep an audience for 60 Minutes/The Block or suchlike.
If recording a game now I generally record the program after to make sure I don't miss the end, altough Premier have wisened up a bit and extended some of the slots - which they then fill with old content if it finishes early.
Other content may be available in HD but why pay the extra hosting fees to Sky/Virgin when most content is only delivered to them in SD
