Mr Beaumont could you please do something about the mindless, childish totally offensive chanting that is coming out of the North Stand.
There are women and children who go to the ground, would they still do it if their mother, grandmother, children etc were stood next to them and also some of us who have a respect for others, you have done wonders for the town and the club but the downside of that is it has attracted some who should know better, and would probably not do take part in it as individuals, the Pied Pipers amongst them calls the tune and they follow like children.
They are doing themselves, the club and the town no favours with the language and obscenities of their chants, I have been a supporter and season ticket holder of this great club for nearly half a century and throughout that time there has always been the banter, but to me this present day stuff is disgusting.
The Watcher has also been attending Leigh games for over 50 years and he loves the industrial language used in the songs of the North Stand. When The Watcher was taken by his father to the rugby, it was part of the thrill of the occasion to hear loud booming voices scolding the opposition or referee using swear words. However The young Watcher knew only to well that if he ever repeated any of the very fruity words he had heard on the terraces he would have got a belt. Language is ever developing, don't be upset by swear words, grow a pair of balls & enjoy it, rugby is a tough sport played by tough hard men & watched in general by working class folk looking to release a bit of energy after a week at work. For The Watcher carry on swearing
